1 Oven Cleaning –
So you mopped the floors, wiped out the presses and even sprayed down all the counter tops. The kitchen looks and smells great however the first area your landlord or letting agent is going to take a look in is the oven. Make sure you don’t give any easy excuse for the guys to call out a professional oven cleaner as this is going to cost you approx €200. Always clean out your oven, pull out all the baking and cooking trays and deep soak and remove any grime and grease. Don’t forget to take out the holding bars and restore the shine of its steel with a deep soak in hot water and use lots of products. Lastly now that the inside of the oven is empty make sure to apply lots of product, close the oven door let the product settle in and then remove 30 minutes later with hot water. Make sure to wear a pair of cleaning gloves and well ventilate your kitchen this is nasty work.
2 Freezer –
After the Oven the next go to is the freezer. Many tenants can forget to empty out the freezer at best but the real issue is a freezer that has not been cleaned out since the tenancy began. Frozen veg, chips and lots of other small food items are often found under the thick frozen ice and it looks terrible. Unplug your freezer and place some towels at the foot of the fridge/freezer and leave your freezer door open. Remove all the drawers, empty them and wipe them out with disinfectant. Wait approx. 2 hours and return and you should have a thawed-out freezer. This clean is quite easy once its thawed-out and just make sure to remove any defrosted food items before placing back in your drawers.
3 En suite Bathroom –Â
This is a real pet hate for most letting agents. Ok you cleaned the bathroom suite , mopped the floors and placed bleach down the toilet. You think it looks and smells just like you got it right! Take a closer look and 9 times out of 10 homes we visit have lots of grime built up around shower glass and the rims of the tray. This is not a pleasant clean but with the correct products steel balls and elbow grease your shower glass and tray will be fine.
4 Toilets –Â
If your toilet has not seen the correct cleaning products for your homes water type you can see a large build up of scale which over time may have become coloured and stained. You have placed product down the toilet but nothings worked ! Unfortunately, that excuse just wont work with your letting agent so we suggest doing something that you should have done long ago. We suggest emptying the water from the bowl then pour half a glass of bicarbonate of soda into and around the toilet bowl and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Now apply white vinegar over the baking soda. This will produce a fizzing reaction that activates the acid and can break down the most stubborn build-ups of limescale. OK now its time to scrub with a steel ball and thick gloves. After about 10 minute you should have a new toilet. If you cant hack this you can give Clean2let a call and we would love to do this work for you 😉

5 Bedroom Mould –Â
It sound frightening and in recent news it is, mould can kill! Your bedroom might look empty, the wardrobes have been emptied ,floors hoovered and you even polished the bedside lockers. However your landlords next port of call will be to move the bed. Firstly, have you swept all that dust and removed the odd sock from under your bed? The next thing that you might find is a build up of light black mould behind the bed, your lease most likely will state that you need to ventilate your property while living there and failure to do will mean you have to hand it back in the same condition. Mould can build up in the cleanest of properties in areas you cant see. In order to fix this issue pull out your bed and get a good anti mould product from your hardware store. Clean down your wall with warm damp cloth. Once dried apply your anti mould product and let it sit for 15 minutes. Once again once dry apply warm damp cloth. Let this air and leave your bed out from the wall and well ventilate your room.
