Deep Cleaning Dublin

Professional deep cleaning services for homes, apartments and rental properties across Dublin.
Ideal for one-off cleans, after builder cleaning , pre-sale and move-out cleaning.

A deep clean is not a tidy-up. It is a room-by-room reset of a property — inside the oven, behind the taps, into the window tracks and the grout — done in a single visit by a team that brings everything with them. Clean2Let has been doing it across Dublin since 2011, and the price is fixed on the size of the property before we arrive.

This page covers the deep cleaning service in general. If you are moving out and a deposit is at stake, the page you want is end of tenancy cleaning. For a flat or duplex specifically, see deep cleaning an apartment in Dublin. For a house specifically — stairs, several bathrooms and what that does to the time on site — see house cleaning in Dublin.

What a deep clean actually involves

Four areas take up most of the day. The full room-by-room list is on our what is included page — this is the short version.

Kitchen

  • Inside the oven, including the door glass and the racks
  • Hob, splashback and the extractor filter above it
  • Inside and outside every press and drawer
  • Fridge and freezer cleaned and seals done, appliance empty
  • Worktops, sinks, taps and drains sanitised

Bathrooms

  • Shower screens and tiles fully descaled
  • Grout behind the taps and around the bath
  • Toilets, baths, basins and waste outlets
  • Mirrors, chrome and glass polished
  • Extractor vent covers wiped down

Bedrooms and living areas

  • Inside wardrobes and presses where they are empty
  • Skirtings, sockets, switches and door frames
  • Radiators, including the backs where reachable
  • Internal window glass, frames and the tracks
  • Dusting down from high level first, floors last

Halls, stairs and floors

  • Bannisters, spindles and stair edges
  • Skirtings and the tops of door frames
  • Hard floors washed, carpets vacuumed throughout
  • Light fittings and shades dusted
  • Front and internal glazing cleaned

When people book a deep clean in Dublin

Nearly every job we quote falls into one of four situations, and each one changes what the day looks like.

Moving into a property

The most common one. Somebody else has lived there, the handover clean was cosmetic, and you would rather not put your own things into their presses. A move-in deep clean is done empty, which is when we can do the job properly — inside every cupboard, behind the appliances, the whole of the bathroom.

Before a sale or a valuation

An estate agent photographing a kitchen will pick up every limescale mark on the taps and every smear on the glass. A deep clean before the photographs is one of the cheaper things you can do to a property you are about to put on the market.

After building or renovation work

Different job entirely. There is little grease but a great deal of fine dust, and it is in the window frames, behind the radiators, on top of the doors and inside every press. It also settles again if the floors are done first, so we dust down, wash, then do floors last. More on our after builders cleaning page.

A once-off reset of an occupied home

No move, no sale — the house simply has not had the oven, the grout and the insides of the presses done in a couple of years. We work around whatever is there, and anything inside a full press cannot be cleaned, so it helps to empty what you want done.

Three things that are specific to Dublin properties

Hard water, and the limescale that comes with it

Dublin is supplied with hard water, so limescale on shower screens, taps, tiles and kettles is part of nearly every bathroom in the city. Descaling is included in a standard deep clean rather than charged as an extra, and on a property that has not been done in years it is often the single biggest visible difference at the end of the day.

Older housing stock takes longer

A 1960s or 70s semi-d with its original kitchen and bathroom is a longer job than a new build of the same size — older presses, older sealant, and decades of paint on the woodwork. It is worth telling us the age of the property when you ring, because it means the quote is right the first time rather than changing on the day.

Apartments and the extractor filter

Dublin has a great deal of purpose-built rental stock, and in an apartment the kitchen extractor recirculates rather than venting outside. The filter above the hob is the thing most often missed and the thing an incoming tenant or agent notices first. We take it out and degrease it. For blocks, we also clean communal areas, stairwells and lobbies on a recurring basis.

What a deep clean costs in Dublin

Fixed on the size of the property, so you have the figure on the call rather than an hourly rate that runs on. Internal windows and frames are the one optional extra.

Property sizeDeep cleanWith internal windows
Studio / 1 bedroom€210€240
2 bedroom€240€270
3 bedroom€300€340
4 bedroom€380€450
5 bedroom€470€540

Every price is all-inclusive: two insured, vetted cleaners with all equipment and materials brought with us. Larger or heavily soiled properties and commercial work are quoted individually. Full list on our cleaning prices page.

What the day looks like

A two-bedroom apartment is usually a morning for a two-person team. A larger or older house takes most of a day, and we will give you a realistic window when we quote rather than a best case.

Two practical things that decide whether the job runs smoothly. The property needs hot water and electricity on the day — without hot water a deep clean cannot be done properly. And if the freezer is to be cleaned it needs to be defrosted beforehand, because we cannot do it while it is iced up.

On ovens, honestly

Oven cleaning is included in a deep clean and we do it thoroughly — racks, door glass, the inside. But it is not a specialist dip-tank service: we do not dismantle the oven, and on burnt-on carbon that has built up over years we cannot promise it will all come away. If the oven is the main reason you are booking, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly what to expect.

Deep cleaning questions

Is a deep clean the same as an end of tenancy clean?

The work is largely the same. The difference is what it is measured against: an end of tenancy clean has to satisfy a letting agent inspecting against the standard the property was signed out at, so the checklist is less forgiving and the property should be empty. If a deposit is involved, use our end of tenancy cleaning page.

Does the property have to be empty?

No, but an empty property gets a better clean. We deep clean occupied homes regularly and simply work around what is there — just bear in mind that the inside of a full wardrobe or press cannot be cleaned.

How much notice do you need?

Usually a few days, and often less. We are based in Baldoyle in Dublin 13, so short notice on the northside and the airport belt is frequently possible. Ring and ask rather than assuming we are booked out.

Which parts of Dublin do you cover?

All of Dublin city and county. We have pages for the areas we work in most: Swords, Malahide and Baldoyle, Howth and Sutton. See cleaning services in Dublin for everything else.

Do you bring your own equipment and materials?

Yes — everything, on every job, included in the price. You do not need to leave anything out for us beyond access, hot water and electricity.

Are your cleaners insured and vetted?

Yes. Every clean is carried out by two insured, vetted cleaners, and we have been trading since 2011. We are rated 4.8 on Google.

Can you do carpets and upholstery as well?

A deep clean includes vacuuming throughout but not wet carpet or upholstery cleaning. Tell us if you want that and we will quote it separately.

“Very good communication, very puntual on the agreed day and time. Professional, deep clean. The showers screens were perfect after Clean2Let work (despite the high level of lime in the area) and of course oven and kitchen as well.
I'd love they worked in the area of my new house!”
